A Lose Weight Diet Program That Really Works When You Have Tried Everything Else

By Mike Olson

If you're like most of us who have problems with our weight, you've probably tried a lot of different methods. From diets that restrict carbohydrates to diets that restrict calories or fat, to diets that require you to eat only certain foods at certain times.

There are certainly plenty of plans out there, and the diet industry is booming. However, very few people seem to be getting thinner. That's because most diets just don't work. If you're trying to lose weight, diet programs of the usual sort might not be what you need. Here's some information on how you can lose weight, diet or no diet.

There are some basic rules about how your body works. You see, to maintain your tissues the way they are now, a certain amount of energy is required. That means that

you need to take in a particular amount of food to maintain your organs, muscles, bones, and even your fat.

You have to feed your fat cells to keep them alive. However, losing weight is rarely as simple as just eating less - it's hard to know how much your particular body uses to maintain itself without experimentation and tracking. These can be hard to do.

In addition, if you want to lose weight, diet programs that restrict certain nutrients can actually keep you from doing it. If you signal to your body that it's starving, it's going to hold on to whatever it can. Ever been on a diet that made you feel bloated and tired?

It was happening because your body was actually cutting down on the energy it used to hang onto that fat! Super low calorie diets or those that are deficient in some nutrient will often trigger this. That's why you have to eat foods that are nutritionally balanced if you want to experience weight loss.

In addition, you'll probably have to exercise. That is, you'll have to stay active if you want to lose fat, not muscle tissue. As far as your body is concerned, that fat is the last defense against starvation, while muscle that's not being used right now can be sacrificed. If you want to signal that you need to keep your muscle, you have to use it.

The good news is that using muscle (especially if you're eating enough to power it) builds muscle. Muscle uses more energy than fat, and you'll have a higher metabolism. That will encourage your body to leave the muscle alone and take off the fat, instead.

The basic rule, when it comes down to trying to lose weight, is that if it sounds crazy, it probably is. Eating well and treating your body right, while cutting out junk food, empty calories, and heavily processed foods is the only lose weight diet that'll really work.

There are a few ways to make this work more effectively, of course, but that's the basic principle. Eat enough to fuel your body, and keep moving so it knows you need that muscle! You'll be impressed by the results, and there are no gimmicks involved.
